Some time ago I told you about a free service from Microsoft called Windows Live Sync, which offers to set up automatic synchronization of your files and transparent.
This service is now increasingly abandoned by Microsoft as Windows Live Mesh tool that provides similar functionality.

But if you are a user of these services do not worry! Indeed, with the 2011 version of its free package called Windows Live Essentials, Microsoft introduced a new born devices called Windows Live!

If the name certainly seems somewhat evocative, yet it hides a rather well-designed tool!

Resulting from the merger of Windows Live Sync and Windows Live Mesh, this new guy offers you simply synchronize with a disconcerting ease, all your files between multiple machines, be they on your network or not.

What are the differences with the former service you say? There are however numerous and significant!

Indeed, the service introduced a new management interface much easier and more successful than its predecessors!
Managed directly from the application, you will no longer need to connect to the web portal to add and edit files or machines!
In addition, this new service brings a new synchronization feature!
You will now be possible to choose to synchronize your files between machines or with your Skydrive (online storage space of 2GB available with any account live) or even both! Nice is not it?

It is important to note that Windows Live Devices is now compatible PC but also MAC! So you will be able to synchronize with simplicity of machines running both Windows and Mac OS X!

Finally, other services not available in France should appear as the ability to add mobile (because Microsoft reveals a link "management SMS" on the interface when adding a phone ...)

However, I have found a small things still missing in this system.
If it is perfect for all types of users, it still lacks the ability to obtain more information about file transfers and current actions ... which could disrupt the most experienced users.

One last thing to note is also that this program is still in beta 2! We can therefore expect that the enrichment Microsoft a little more by its release in release!

In any case, I really encourage you to try it because it could be useful for individuals as for professionals!
